Recently a customer of mine had a domino 8.5 server crash because Symantec anti-virus had an issue on the server which caused various issues with Domino.
The issue that I couldn't find any information on in any of the forums was when user's on the server couldn't access any attachments in their mail files. The message I was seeing in the log was 'The database D:\Lotus\Domino\data\mail\mmillar.nsf was unable to open or read the file: Array index out of bounds' . DAOS is enabled on the server so I tried deleting and recreating the DOAS catalog, performing resyncs all to no avail.
Eventually I performed a 'load fixup -J -D mail\x.nsf' on the mail files which fixed the problem.
